Class of 1953...

“55 years and still the standards taught remain as our beacon”

The ideals taught by the Christian Brothers have stood by us all and given us the standards by which we have lived our lives. This is always a joyous occasion and classmates travel from all over Australia to enjoy the company of good friends, all of whom set out 55 years ago to apply the gifts received at Waverley CBC.

The Class of 1953 will be holding its reunion at the Harbour View Hotel (near the railway station), 17 Blue Street, North Sydney on Friday 24th October from 6pm to 12 midnight.

Enquiries please to Fred Miniter 02 9499 8806 or email fredmm@bigpond.com.au.

Waverley College Class of 1959 - 50 year reunion

Dear Classmates,

Over the past few months a committee comprising Bob Dunlop, Alan Marsden, Denis Cleary, Paul Marr, Peter Stretton, Geoff Boyd-Boland Michael Rowles and myself together with help from David Malone and Peter McCormack have been planning an event to celebrate this great occasion.

Timing issues have proven quite critical as we do need to fit into the College Calendar. We now have that plan in place and do hope that you are able to join us next year.

Next year does seem to be a long way away but it is of the utmost importance that we have your response by the date nominated below as the number of hotel rooms required means that we have a long lead time to ensure we are all domiciled in the same premises. We do anticipate that everyone (including Sydney residents) will take up this accommodation proposal so we can have a real weekend of celebration.

The plan is as follows:

Saturday 16th May 2009 Arrive at Marriott Hotel at 1.00 pm approx
2.00pm Depart for Queens Park to view the Waverley 1st 15 vs St Aloysius
5.00pm Return to Hotel
7.00pm Pre Dinner Drinks and Canapes by “The Henry Lawson Room”
7.30pm Dinner (3 course) inc Premium Beverage Package of Beer, Wines and Soft Drinks
12.00 Midnight Dinner concludes.

Overnight: The Sydney Harbour Marriott, 30 Pitt St Sydney 1225, Ph +612 9259 7000

Sunday 17th May 2009
8.45am (approx) Breakfast
11.00am Visit to the College

Cost
Accommodation Single or Double Deluxe City View Room - $199 per room per night
Single with breakfast - $219 per room per night
Double with breakfast - $239 per room per night

Dinner $137 per head inc canapes, three courses and unlimited beverage package until
midnight.

(N.B. The dinner is for ex students and special guests only but you may wish to have
your partner join you at the hotel.)

Car Parking Valet Parking is available and needs to be pre-booked at $38 for 24 hours.

Additional Costs

1) Bus if required
2) Dinner certainly and accommodation also for our special guests should they decide to stay with us.

Special Guests Br Vincent Duggan CFC and Mr P J ”Percy” Watson (our only surviving teacher)

Guest Speaker Michael Cleary from the class of 1958.

As a firm booking for both accommodation and the dinner must be made as soon as possible we will require your confirmation of attendance together with a deposit of $100 by Sept 30th 2008. Your cheque should be made payable to “Waverley College 59 reunion”. Please also advise whether you require a double or single room.

The deposit will be credited against the dinner and I will send you details of Hotel arrangements to enable you to confirm your own specific requirements direct with the Hotel. I will simply book a number of room types.

Accommodation Yes No
Room Type Single Double

Please circle your requirements and forward with your cheque to
