Waverley College Junior School
Welcome to Waterford
Set amid one hectare of lush greenery, inhabited by native fauna, located at 44 Henrietta Street, Waverley in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, 5 kilometres from Sydney CBD and a short walk from Bondi Junction.
Although the Waterford campus is about 300 metres from the main campus of Our Lady's Mount, the Junior School boys make full use of all the Senior School facilities - Chapel, swimming pool, gymnasium, hall and grounds at Queens Park. Contact is also kept with the Senior School in several ways. Prefects are assigned to each year group and liaise with the Student Representative Council regularly. Junior School boys attend full school assemblies and participate in all major school functions, with representatives carrying out active roles on these important occasions. The boys are always made to feel a respected part of the full Waverley family.
We cater for 288 Junior School boys in Years 5 and 6 - 5 streams of each year with 29 mixed ability grouping - with sixty co-educational placements in our Preschool. A caring environment is provided, with strong emphasis on self discipline and acceptance of challenge. To this end our Creative Discipline policy, developed by staff, students and parents, is based on rights with responsibilities. Parents are always notified if the College experiences a problem with any boy's behaviour and we endeavour to work with the family to eradicate the problem. In the light of each new enrolment, we are continually evaluating our policy.
The boys at Waverley College Junior School are active and vital. They are encouraged to reach their full potential in all aspects of life and to accept the challenges placed before them.
