Pre-School
The aim of Waterford is to provide a quality pre school service in partnership with parents which promotes the overall development of each child within the group context.
Parents bring the child into and take him/her away from free indoor play. The staggered arrival/departure of children:
- Allows parents flexibility to meet other commitments.
- Encourages involvement of parents with the child in the program.
- Allows children and staff to be greeted personally.
- Provides opportunity for staff/parents to exchange information and discussion.
As all staff are early childhood qualified the whole group is divided into three smaller primary contact groups. In these daily smaller groups, the children have greater opportunities to participate, share, take turns and relate to and communicate with staff and each other through a range of planned experiences.
Two groups are offered. A three day group on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and a two day group on Thursday and Friday. Thirty children attend each group. Waterford pre school is open for children from 8:30am until 3:30pm.
The NSW Department of School Education calendar is followed and the centre is closed during school holidays.
