Year 8 German

The Year 8 German course seeks to practise and develop the skills acquired in Year 7. Students continue to expand their vocabularies and learn more about the nature of languages as systems.

COURSE CONTENT

Learning is topic-based and the emphasis is on communication in a range of realistic situations. Topics covered fall into four major categories:

• Wie geht's? - talking about myself and those around me
• Los geht's! - Lifestyle and travel
• Jetzt geht's ab! - Entertainment and Festivals
• Gesundheit! - Health and environmental issues

Typical topics in Year 8 include Health and Fitness, Making Arrangements and Famous People.

ASSESSMENT INFORMATION

The German assessment program consists of class tests, across-form assignments, oral presentations and formal examinations.
