The Media Club
Media Group runs on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 3.30pm-4.45pm in C11 of the Conlon Building. We also attend College events several times each Term. The afternoon sessions are used for training and production. We also document College events regularly during the College day.
Media Group was established in 2003 at Waverley College due to the growing interest and demand in the area. Media Group gives students the opportunity to learn and develop skills in digital media; in particular, still photography and video. Students are taught how to handle and operate digital still and digital video cameras including the selection and manipulation of media, digitization, image capture and post production. Students may learn how to use industry standard software like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro.
In the course of learning about digital media we provide a service to the College by submitting a significant amount of photographic material to the web for the front page and Photo Album. Additional media is developed for other College publications and events and at the College throughout the year.
Students from Years 9-12 can join Media Group as their extra curricular activity for the season. Students who are doing a sport can also join the afternoon sessions in consultation with Ms Palmer.
Media Group is suited to students with a special interest in photography, video and the related post production applications.
