
IT Facilities at Waverley College
Introduction
With the growing trend for Technology to be available in the classroom and as a resource for students for self learning and research Waverley College has in place program which annually reviews IT resources available to students and for staff in the classroom and impements projects to benefit the Student and the learning environment. This has resulted technology resources on the High School site providing access to both MAC and PC (*Windows XP) environments, running specialist applications such as Autocad 2009 (Technical Applied Science), Adobe Premiere (Visual Arts) and Sibelius (Music) which compliment the standard applications Open Office, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Flash which are available to all.
In School
Waverley has 6 IT labs each one is available for teaching staff to use as a resource and provide a 1:1 ratio for classes. In addition in 2009 Waverley will be implementing a wireless network which will provide mobile computing on the campus giving students access to and additional 175 devices, allowing more classes to have 1:1 ratio to technology.
In The Classroom
Over the past 3 years growth in eLearning there has been a greater desire for Teachers to make use of technology in the classroom when presenting curriculum to students, Waverley has undertaken a project to roll out 50 classrooms by the start of the 2009 school year. All will be equiped with data projectors and interactive whiteboards this allows for the delivery of content by teachers using digital media or the internet. It also means staff can make lessons more hands on and enjoyable.

At Home
Each student has a login to the Ewave Portal giving them access to download relevant material for their course and also to provide them with a location they can obtain homework material and submit completed assignments. Students also have a login to an email account that can be used to communicate with course teachers.
Library/Digital Media delivery
The Waverley High School Library provides out of school hours access to technology allowing students to make use of a Computer Lab and laptop resources to put together assignments or undertake research. The Library also host a digital media server which provides access to a large amount of video resources that can be accessed across the school for lessons and for students research.
