About the Foundation

The Waverley College Foundation supports students and enriches the College experience by encouraging generosity and community involvement. Established in 2019, it manages gifts, donations, and bequests to fund important projects and initiatives.

Led by Patron Sir Peter Cosgrove and Chair A/Prof. Brett Courtenay OAM, the Foundation creates a secure financial base to maximise support for the College. Together, we can enhance the Waverley experience and provide opportunities for future generations.

Throughout the year, the Foundation hosts a range of events that bring our community together while raising vital funds to support students and College initiatives. We invite you to explore our upcoming events and be part of this shared commitment to Waverley’s future.

Support the Science and Innovation Centre

Waverley College’s Science & Innovation Centre is a bold investment in the future of learning - a space designed to inspire curiosity, creativity and discovery. At its core are 14 purpose-built laboratories, including specialist facilities for Marine Studies, Engineering and a rooftop learning environment. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the Centre will empower students to explore, experiment and think beyond the classroom, preparing them for an increasingly dynamic and technology-driven world.

Grounded in sustainability and a deep respect for First Nations Australian heritage, the Centre's design reflects a holistic approach to education - one that connects innovation with responsibility, and learning with place.

This is more than a building. It is a transformative environment where students are challenged to think deeply, collaborate meaningfully and engage with the world around them, shaping not only what they learn, but who they become.

The Science & Innovation Centre will only be made possible through the generosity of our community. Contributions to the Building Fund are essential to reach the initial fundraising goal of $5,000,000, enabling the project to break ground and bring this vision to life. By supporting this project, you are investing in future generations of Waverley students, giving them the tools, spaces and opportunities to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.

We invite you to be part of this transformative journey.

I have been fortunate to receive many honours throughout my military career and time as Governor General of Australia, but the invitation to be Patron of the Waverley College Foundation is particularly special to me. My time as a student at Waverley College was a wonderful experience that positively shaped my life and cultivated important qualities such as courage, respect, wisdom and empathy. I’m a firm believer in the power of education and its ability to provide abundant opportunities later in life. By taking on the role of Patron, I hope to provide future generations of students with the kind of education that was so pivotal to my personal success.
